Hi! I'm Stephen Noh. I'm teaching myself how to code during COVID-19.

My story

My path to coding may not have been a straight line, but I’ve picked up valuable skills along the way.

I first learned about programming using my graphing calculator back in seventh grade. I spent most of my time in class programming text-based games in TI-BASIC for my friends to play instead of listening to my teachers. Unfortunately, "Attack of the Fart Teacher" never made it out of Washburne middle school and coding took a back seat for a while.

I graduated college, spent a few years volunteering around the country through AmeriCorps, and taught myself how to become a serious poker player.

I then taught myself how to be a sportswriter. I was one of the first employees at The Athletic and PokerNews, and the one thing that both of those places had in common was that we were all willing to go the extra mile to make the trains run on time. Both sites are now among the biggest in their industries.

These career choices have shown me what I value. I like helping people solve problems. I like collaboration. I don’t back down from big challenges. And I love teaching myself how to become an expert in a field. Programming gives me an opportunity to do all of the above.

If you’re looking for someone with a traditional path towards coding, then I’m probably not the right person for you.

If you’re looking for an intellectually curious person to work with, who will do whatever it takes to get a job done, has experience with all different types of clients, has a record of high achievement, and is open to collaboration on “Attack of the Fart Teacher 2,” then let's make some cool stuff together.
